Since its inception having completed 1 year as an academic ledger in the fraternity of dentistry, Journal of Dental Research and Review (JDRR) is now on its verge to step into its next term embracing research and reviews of novel concepts to be scripted in its annual. With a year passing by, JDRR presented the faculty of dentistry throughout the globe with best available research in the form of editorials, original research articles, case reports, review articles, and short communications concerning its scope.

In the issue herewith, JDRR has expanded its horizons with inclusion of letters from global scholars commenting on the published literature expressing the need and recognizing the novelty of the scientific data displayed in the previous sects. The expanse it has is noteworthy, since the launch of the memoir covering lines from the west to the east. The same is listed in the mentioned issue and hope to continue with similar popularity and pace that the industry demands in today's hour. The best of success and reputation is what I wish to JDRR in its forthcoming years maintaining the same livelihood as it displays today.

Concerning problems to be identified and certained with its definitive answers is what JDRR volume 2 (issue 1) has looked upon at in year 2015. This issue consists of articles exploring new areas of dentistry like stem cell research and concentrating on development anomalies and syndromes of rare specification which have been into subject of understanding since a long time. It is also concentrating on public health issues in general with some light thrown on dental education. A major part of dentistry - clinical dentistry is also in due receipt of recognition without which the affair would be stated as incomplete.

After completion of one volume and onto the journey of volume 2, thereby came a realization for research addressing the international oral health policies, strategies, and plans. These policies, strategies, and plans are directed by World Health Organization (WHO) on a regular basis or as and when the need arises. These are used by many countries throughout the globe for betterment and improvement of the populace within the respective boundaries. These also play an important role in the lay of budgetary decisions since health forms a part of gross domestic profit. Oral health is a subset and no different than general health. Thus, should receive adequate consideration listing the major problems in the domain. The addressed directives form the basis toward development and maintenance of sound health of the nation. Although such a development is a challenging task, and no one process can decide a benchmark for establishing guidelines. The cultural and national boundaries also form barriers for adoption of single such standards which thereby is a limitation. In spite of the difficulties addressed, WHO laid down certain protocol processes which is identified as sound by the organization viz., engaging stakeholders, situation analysis, and priority setting, bringing it all together, from vision to operational, costing plans, monitoring, and evaluation. [1] Research done on these lines could add value to the existing condition and develop a red tape for implementation of sound health state.

I hereby request the contributors of JDRR to address issues as aforementioned and deal with such conditions at least on a local level. The forthcoming issues of JDRR dream to publish such research concerning the national health problems thereby developing operational standards, policies, and plans.
